Privacy, in plain English.
The short version: I collect only what you send me, I use it to respond and to run the work, and I don't sell it. The details are below.
What this site collects
- The contact form asks for your name, email, company, what you need help with, and your message. It goes to me, triggers an automatic confirmation email, and is saved to my customer records so I can follow up. That’s it.
- If you book a call, scheduling runs through Cal.com, which collects your name, email, and the time you pick, under its own privacy policy. Cal.com processes this on my behalf, with data hosted primarily in the EU and standard safeguards in place for any data transferred elsewhere.
- If you message me on WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business (operated by Meta) processes your phone number and our message history under its own privacy policy.
- If you email me directly, I have whatever you send.
How I use it
To reply to your inquiry, schedule conversations, and, if we work together, to run the engagement. I don't sell your information, and I don't share it beyond the services listed here.
Services this site runs on
This site and the work behind it run on a set of third-party tools. Each processes a narrow slice of information under its own privacy policy — here’s what each one does and where to read more.
Website, hosting & marketing
- Netlify hosts the site and processes form submissions.
- Silktide Consent Manager runs the cookie consent banner on this site. It is self-hosted, and the choice you make is stored in your own browser.
- Google Analytics measures how the site is used: pages visited, how you arrived, device type. Google Signals is enabled on this property, which means that if you're signed into a Google account with ads personalization turned on, Google may associate this visitation data with information from your account to report on cross-device activity and general demographics or interest categories. See how Google uses this data.
- Google Ads is linked to this site's Analytics property, including for remarketing, which means third-party vendors including Google can show you ads based on a prior visit here, and conversion data from this site may be shared back to Google Ads to measure ad performance.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ads run a tracking pixel on this site to measure ad performance and to show retargeting ads to past visitors on Facebook and Instagram. See Meta’s privacy policy.
- Bing Webmaster Tools (Microsoft) helps me monitor how this site performs in Bing search results.
- VibeSEO monitors this site’s search rankings and technical health; it doesn’t add visitor-facing tracking beyond standard search-engine crawling.
- HARO (Help A Reporter, helpareporter.com) and Featured.com connect me with journalists and publishers for press mentions and expert-sourcing requests; neither runs on this site itself.
Client & business records
- HubSpot stores inquiry contact details so I can manage follow-ups.
- Zapier connects the contact form to my email and customer records.
- Notion holds internal project notes, which may reference information you’ve shared with me.
- QuickBooks (Intuit) handles invoicing, billing details, and payment records for engagements.
- Stripe processes payments for paid engagements. I never see or store your full card details; Stripe handles that as a PCI-compliant payment processor.
- GitHub hosts this site’s code and version history.
Research & drafting tools
In doing the work — research, analysis, and drafting — I sometimes use AI tools, including Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google), ChatGPT (OpenAI), and Perplexity. Where client information is used with these tools, I keep it to what’s reasonably needed for the task at hand; each tool processes that information under its own privacy policy. If any part of your business is sensitive enough that you’d rather it never touch a third-party AI tool, tell me and I’ll handle that part manually.
Design & development
This site is built and maintained with the help of Sanity.io (content management) and Cursor (an AI-assisted code editor). Neither is exposed to visitors of this site.
Cookies, analytics, and ads choices
Analytics and advertising work through cookies and similar identifiers. You can block cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with the opt-out browser add-on, and manage personalized ads and Google Signals’ use of your account data at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Turning off ads personalization in your Google account stops this association. You can manage Meta’s ad tracking at Facebook Ad Preferences. The site works fine with cookies off.
If your state gives you a right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising (for example, under California law), you can exercise it through the cookie banner on this site, the ad-platform settings linked above, or by emailing hello@opportunitydesigned.com.
How long I keep things
Inquiries and correspondence are kept as long as needed to respond and to support any work we do together, then deleted on request or when no longer needed.
Your choices
Ask me what I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it: email and it's done. Nothing about your inquiry requires giving up any rights.
Who this site is for
This site is for businesses and professionals. It isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the update appears here with a new effective date.
